Island Fine Art is looking for condominium owners and area residents interested in hosting artists for its 2008 Crescent Beach Paint Out. Housing is the single biggest expense for artists when they travel. Providing a place to stay helps artists individually and supports the arts as a whole.

As a host, you'll be paired up with one or more professional plein air artists from around the state. We're looking for unrented beach side condominiums or area residents that have a spare guest room during the week of October 18-25.

Our Paint Out will be even better this year with support from folks like you and your families. Our goal is to make the Crescent Beach Paint Out one of the premier art events in the state. With your help we can do it!

For Condominium Owners:

As a Host Owner, you'll be donating a one-week stay in your unit to one or two artists during the Paint Out. In exchange, each guest artist will leave behind a "Thank You" painting created during the event. All paintings will be original oils, pastel or water colors - framed and ready to hang in your unit or your home. These paintings would also make great gifts for the upcoming holiday season (if you can part with them).

• Artists will be assigned Host Owners by random drawing.
• Units should be available from Saturday Oct. 18 through Saturday October 25.
• Some of our artists travel with a spouse or partner. Assuming two artists per condominium, at the most there would be four adults staying in your unit.
• The size (9"x12" or larger), style and subject matter of a painting will be totally up to the guest artist. The painting may be one of the artist's unsold works from the show, or he/she might create one specifically for your unit. Regardless, you're sure to enjoy the beautiful work that’s left behind.
• The artist will leave their Thank You painting in your unit before check out on Saturday. To make other arrangements, please contact us at paintout@islandfineart.com.

For Area Residents:

Artists attending paint outs often stay with families or individuals who have a spare guest room available during the event. It gives the artist a chance to meet local art supporters and learn more about the community where they paint.
