St. Augustine, FLPamela Geiger has painted St. Augustine for ten years, and may be found at the Plaza, on a beach, in a bistro or down a crooked road. Her paintings are alive with people, places, and events. St. Augustine's landmarks, vanishing farmland, and waterways provide Geiger infinite subjects.
Andrew Welton
St. Augustine, FLMy camera is my paintbrush. Together, we capture light to create the mood and feeling of the picture. When a scene interests me, my camera frames the part that most expresses the scene and my inner feelings of what I am.
I purchased my first camera in Viet Nam, and took several photos of the area - not of the War, but of the beautiful landscape and particularly the people. Unfortunately, I was wounded and never got back to my company where all my photos were. I was sent back home, and several months later, a box arrived with only my empty camera and some clothes. I never saw my prints again.
After my tour in the Army, I enrolled in a photography course that had on its staff Life Magazine photographers to critique my work. With that training, I coontinued taking photos of the many places I lived around the country. I grew up in rural Connecticut, moved to Oregon as a young man, then to Florida where I have lived these past twenty years. I have a great appreciation of the ocean - from New England seaside towns to the wild Pacific coast, and down to the beautiful shorelines of Florida.
With that in mind, I cherish the time to create my photos of like the way I see it - peace and harmony forever.
Home of the Crescent Beach Paint OutIsland Fine Art is located in Crescent Beach, Florida just south of St. Augustine. The gallery specializes in art that captures the beauty of our state and more specifically the natural wonders of our surrounding coastal area. The gallery is just one part of the Island Experience. Our facility also offers clients personal fitness and spa services to soothe the body as well as the soul. We continue to serve the Crescent Beach community by sponsoring a variety of art and fitness related events at our facility including our annual Crescent Beach Paint Out.
